The second largest island of the Grenadines, Bequia is an independent member of the British Commonwealth, along with St. Vincent. Between the two islands stretches a string of 100 tiny islets and cays, which are popular with yachtsmen and the "international set." Although still very much off the beaten path, the Grenadines are sought after for their fine diving and snorkeling opportunities, good beaches, privacy and informal socializing. Bequia offers rich and varied flora and fauna, and the waters around the island are a great magnet for divers and snorkelers. With fine restaurants and good craft-type shops, this small idyllic island is a true find for the discerning traveler.
